My works on paper serve as an exploratory space. Using mixed media, I experiment with various materials and techniques. There is no sequence to these pieces; they are meant to be displayed in grids of any configuration. I am interested in secrecy and conspiracy in relation to knowing and forgetting, working and reworking surfaces until images and materials become difficult to identify. The ongoing series presents fragmentary abstractions of art as an investigative process that attempts and fails to capture the world. This failure emerges from both too much and too little information, and all the ways our society conditions us to forget. These abstractions embody repressed memories, faded dreams, and incoherent delusions. Incorporating imagery from conspiracies, visual perception tests, and leaves historically used to censor art, I seek to examine the elusive boundaries of what we are able and permitted to know.
